Carowinds is a popular Charlotte theme park, which has recently opened its water park known as Boomerang Bay. The theme park will be open for extended hours during the summer. However hours may vary depending on the weather. Thrill Rides

The Carowinds theme park is spread over 112 acres and has roller coaster rides, water rides and rides for little children also. The recently introduced Carolina Cobra is built like a 125-foot snake that twists around giving all riders a 360-degree turn not once but twice. At the drop tower, guests are strapped to their seats and lifted 160 feet in the air after which they are thrust down in a free fall for 100 feet.

Family Rides

With Carowinds Theme park tickets the family rides that can be enjoyed at this theme park have been graded from intensity to high intensity rides. Enjoy the bumper cars at “Dodg’ems”, spin on the swirling gondolas at “Kaleidoscope” or go down the white water rapids aboard a raft at ‘Rip Roarin’ Rapids”.

Kids Attractions

Kids can enjoy themselves at “SpongeBob Square Pants 3D” show at the Carowinds Action Theatre and at the “Scooby Doo’s Haunted Mansion” where kids and their friends can play with the interactive mystery machines to see who wins the most ScoobyDoo snacks and ghosts.

The Music festival and special shows

The Nickelodeon Central is a place where kids can meet their favorite cartoon characters from the Nickelodeon TV shows. Special concerts and events are also held from time to time at the theme park. The upcoming events include “Independence Day Celebration” on 4th July, “Miss Carowinds Swimsuit Competition” on 4th July, “Fiesta Latina” on 19th July and many more. Some events and shows may be charged extra. The 33rd “Carowinds Music Festival” provides a platform to music students all across the country to showcase their talents. Renowned composers and adjudicators give students medals and ribbons for their outstanding performance.
