Darien Lake located between the cities of Rochester and Buffalo is a very popular New York Theme Park. It includes rides for all groups and also features a water park.

Water Park

The Hooks Lagoon is a pool that has a pirate theme where both adults and kids can enjoy at this pool. With plenty of waterfalls and shipwrecks, even children can enjoy. The water park is usually open from 11 in the morning till 7 in the evening, if weather permits. If you are visiting the Darien Lake Theme Park, you are advised to take a long a swimsuit that is suitable for family outings.

The most popular rides here are the “Big Kahuna” which is a water slide that is 700 feet long with a number of twists and turns. Up to 4 persons can ride the raft along the water chute. At “Cuda Falls”, visitors should be 48” and above to go down the water slides.

Rides

The Darien Lake Theme Park tickets allow you to enjoy the thrill rides that include the “OCC Motocoaster” that will literally launch you from 0 to 40 mph in just under 3 seconds. The roller coasters where you can have most fun are “Boomerang” that has many vertical loops and takes the visitors both backward and forward on the tracks, while Predator is the tallest wooden roller coaster in the country. With the “Spaceship”, you will be rotated 360 degrees.

Special events and shows

There are a number of special events that happen at the Darien Lake Theme Park. Most of the events are included along with the admission ticket. For many of the other special events, there are separate charges. Many of the music industry’s big names are also due to perform at the Darien Lake. Admission to these events is on a paid basis. Some of the names that are due to perform here are “Def Leppard with Poison & Cheap Trick”, “Kid Rock with Lynyrd Skynyrd”, “Creed” and many others.
