Typhoon Lagoon Tickets

Like all things big and renowned, an attraction as famous as Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has its own legend, to begin with. Yes, what goes with your purchase of Typhoon Lagoon tickets is an interesting story about how this favorite Disney destination came into being.

As told time and again, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, one of the two popular water parks in Walt Disney World Resort, was created in the wake of the fiercest of storms when there was a meteorological disturbance that beat the hell out of Orlando.

So mighty a storm that caused the boats to be tossed through thatched roofs of beaten beach houses, surfboards to hurl into bending palm trees, and everything in sight standing uprooted and thrown out onto the mountains. In the midst of it all, “Miss Tilly” which is not much but a lovely but hapless shrimp boat, found itself swept up by the looping tides of the ferocious typhoon and was propelled onto the peak of Mount Mayday, a volcanic mountain. Indeed, to this day, Miss Tilly happens to remain dangerously perched on that mountain.

The poor boat's whistle would blow every thirty minutes, and every time the volcano would attempt to dislodge its burden by bursting into an enormous geyser of water shooting skyward.

The seeming sorry state of Miss Tilly is now a source of inexhaustible thrill in one of the most-visited attractions in Disney World and in all of Orlando. Typhoon Lagoon tickets gives one access to numerous water-themed adventure slides and rides.

At the center surrounding the gushing mountain lie a 56-acre fascinating tropical paradise chock-full of waterways and water slides, rapids and rapids and a sun-drenched, invigorating Water Park.Where the lads and lasses and the “big” kids can spend endless cheer frolicking in nine giant and winding waterslides – one with near vertical drops, the forever water-loving children can safely waddle in pint-sized raft rides, at Ketchakiddee Creek.

The whole family, with the whole clan in the haul may catch six foot waves in the Surf Pool or go snorkeling for the ultimate adventure in Shark Reef complete with encounters of schools of the most colorful fishes and real sharks. There is enough and more of water recreations to give the family the experience of the “wet and wild” adventure.

Lots of swimming and wading can make you starving. There are quick-service restaurants to fix your belly up. Meanwhile, your Typhoon Lagoon tickets may not tell you this: wear water shoes or flip-flops as you are likely to climb stairs to access certain attractions. Also, the ground can get real blistering and so will your soles.
