The Splash Mountain attraction is part of the Critter Country themed area that you can visit after having purchased Disneyland theme park tickets in Anaheim, California.
The passengers ride in a log and small children are able to sit together with an adult. After obtaining Critter Country attraction tickets, you can choose this ride which starts off peacefully by going through an area that is setup as an imitation of what a river ride would be like in the southern part of the US.
This is done by integrating props into the scenery, such as shacks. All along the ride the passengers will hear music and as the tour progresses, the passenger log is lifted up onto higher levels of the artificial mountain.
There is also an indoor part of the Splash Mountain attraction and here is where you will hear songs and see audio-animatronic animals. The story shown is from Br’er Rabbit and once the final level has been reached, the ride will then take a drop down to the bottom of the mountain.
People on this ride will recognize many of the characters from the Br’er Rabbit story, like Br’er Fox and also recognize the songs being played.
Since this is a popular activity, if you don’t want to have to wait a long time before being able to purchase the Splash Mountain tickets then you should come during the off season. Disneyland park tickets are also discounted during the off season which is especially great for those with large families.
