The Kennywood theme park is a traditional theme park and has also been designated as a National Historic site. There are both classic attractions as well as new attractions that have been added for the visitors to experience and enjoy. At the Pitt fall, you can conquer your fear of height or enjoy a history tour on the “Olde Kennywood Railroad”.
Number of classic and thrill rides
There are a number of “classic rides” at this Pittsburg Theme Park. Some of the “Classic Rides” include Auto Race where kids can enjoy the automated racing car that go down a round winding track. Enjoy the bumper cars at “Gran Prix”. Get a feel of Kangaroo jumping in the “Kangaroo”. Ride the carousels at “Merry-Go-Round”. Enjoy boating on the lagoon in “paddle boat”.
The “thrill rides” include “Swingshot” where riders can experience weightlessness, The “Cosmic Chaos”, that is a new ride, The “Big Kahuna” where the riders seated in the gondola will be holding on as the gondola rotates freely.
Water Rides
When you purchase the Kennywood Theme Park tickets, enjoy the water rides that include “Log Jammer, that was first introduced in 1975, “Pittsburg Plunge” that is a classic splash down the chute where riders get totally wet as they are plunge down a 50 foot drop. Visitors can go down the “raging Rapids” aboard a raft on the river canyon. All water and thrill rides have minimum height requirements.
Dark Rides
There are also “Dark Rides” at the Kennywood theme park that include “Garfield’s nightmare” which is a 3-D experience. At “Noah’s Ark” that still survives from 1936, it continues to be a huge crowd puller.
Shows and dining options
Kiddieland is where little kids have their own rides at the theme park. There are a number of shows that also happen here. These are included in the price of the ticket. One of the most popular show is “Jugglemania” that has the famous juggling acts of ‘Michael Kara’. With plenty of dining options that include more than 30 refreshment and cart stands as well as the ever-popular Parkside Café, the Kennywood is a great place.
